October 30, 2013

October 25 was declared "Sammy Hagar Day" by the city of Lowell, Massachusetts in appreciation for the Hagar Family Foundation contribution to the local food bank, The Merrimack Valley Food Bank.

The Merrimack Valley Food Bank received a gift from the Hagar Family Foundation as part of the "Four Decades Of Rock" tour. Sammy is donating to local food banks in each U.S. city he visits and in celebration of National Food Day, there was a gift of $5,000 presented to the Merrimack Valley Food Bank.

Check out video footage below.

As a child, Sammy knew what it was to feel hunger and is committed to preventing others from experiencing it by donating to food relief agencies like the Merrimack Valley Food Bank that has provided food for 60,000 individuals monthly through a network of food pantries in 32 communities in the region since 1991.
